GERO IS FULLY RIPPED FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM

Former youths international and Ostersunds FK of Sweden striker, Alhaji Gero was on target for his side against Athletico Bilbao in the EUROPA League match played yesterday.


The 24 years old played the entire duration of the match and scored his team's equaliser in the 52 minutes of the encounter, taking his tally for the season so far to 2 goals in 3 EUROPA league matches and 7 for the season.


Gero who had previously played in the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL between 2009-2013 for teams like El Kanemi Warriors, Lobi stars, Kaduna United and Enugu Rangers in an exclusive interview with www.tangasports247.blogspot.com has expressed his delight of scoring against a high profile team such as Athletico Bilbao. He promised to keep working hard and continue to score goals for fun.


Gero who is eyeing a call up to the national team set up made his debut for the Nigeria national U/20 football team at the 8 nation tournament in South Africa. He scored two goals on his competitive debut for the U20 team in their 2-1 away win against Tanzania at the 2013 African Youth Championship qualification. He scored again on the return leg of the same fixture which Nigeria has now won 4-1 on aggregate. Gero also played for the U20 team in the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.


In July 2013 he was selected for the Nigeria national football team squad that played against the Ivory Coast national football team.
