Kano State Tofa premier league kick start today



The 2017/2018 Kano state Tofa premier league kick off today at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, in the ancient city of Kano.

The colourful event was witness by many dignitaries from the Nigerian football federation and also, former NFF chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, who was also the Chairman, Kano states Sports commission were is in attendance.

The dignitaries that were led by the Kano state FA chairman, Alhaji Sharu Inuwa Rabiu Ahlan include LMC chairman and also second vice Chairman of the Nigerian football federation, Alhaji Ahmad Yusuf Fresh, Barrister Sheyi Akinwumi, Alhaji Ahmad Gusau and a hosts of others.

TOFA premier league produced many players that went on to play for the national team of Nigeria. Players such as Sani Kaita, Ahmad Yaro Yaro are some of the notable big name to have played in one of the oldest tournaments in the country.

The tournament was named after it sponsor, Dan Adalan Kano, Alhaji Isiyaku Umar Tofa.

Two matches were decided today with the first match ended in 3-2 victory for Dorayi United over Daurawa United who came from 3 goals down in the first half.

The second match is the most entertaining game of the evening as two neighbouring clubs, Rijiyar Lemo United and Bachirawa United match ended in a 7 goals thriller with Bachirawa United winning the encounter by 4 goals to nil.
