ALHAJI GERO HELP OSTERSUNDS FK TO PROGRESS TO THE EUROPA LEAGUE NEXT ROUND

Alhaji Gero's Ostersunds FK have progress to the UEFA EUROPA League next round after beating Zorya FC of Sweden in one of the fixtures decided on Thursday.


Ostersunds are top of group J, having garnered a total of 10 points from 5 matches and are sitting 2 points clear of second place, Athletico Bilbao with one round of matches to go.


Ostersunds FK scored their first goal of the night via an own goal, courtesy of Dmytro Grechy in the 40th minutes of the first half before Ghoddos Somi added the second for the side team in the 78th minutes of the encounter.


Alhaji Gero was substituted for Mensah in the 85th minutes of the game after he was elbowed in the lips by an opposition player.


In the other group fixture, Athletico Bilbao defeated Hertha Berlin of Germany by three goals to two to stand firmly in the rest for next round.


Ostersunds FK will next travel down to Germany to face Hertha Berlin in a fortnight while FC Zorya will host Athletico Bilbao in the battle for the other second round ticket. A victory for either sides will ensure progression to the next round of fixtures.
