2018 CHAN LIST: SALISU YUSUF PICKS ONLY FOUR CENTRAL MIDFIELDERS PLUS NINETEEN OTHER PLAYERS

The Coach of the home based Super Eagles, Salisu Yusuf has released the lists of the final 23 man squad ahead of the Morocco 2018 African Nation Championship.


The list is made up of three goalkeepers, eight defenders, four central midfielders and the rest were attacking players.


However, last seasons NPFL best goalkeeper, Suraj Ayeleso didn't make the cut as Ikechukwe Ezenwa, Theophilus Afelokhai and Plateau United Dele Ajiboye were all picked ahead of him.


Another notable absentee was MFM FC attacking midfielder, Sikiru Olatumbosu who will have to watch the CHAN from the comfort of his home.


Meanwhile, El Kanemi warriors new attacking sensation, Nura Ibrahim and Sunday Faleye of Sunshine Stars made up the team. 

However, Katsina United Destiny Ashadi and Defender, Olamilekan Adeleye were both ruled out through injury.

Midfielders: Ifeanyi Ifeanyi (Akwa United); Rabiu Ali (Kano Pillars); Augustine Oladapo (Enyimba FC); Ekundayo Ojo (Sunshine Stars)


Forwards: Emeka Atuloma (Rivers United); Anthony Okpotu (Lobi Stars); Eneji Moses (Plateau United); Ibrahim Mustapha (Enyimba FC); Emeka Ogbuh (Rivers United); Sunday Faleye (Akwa United); Nura Muhammed (El-Kanemi Warriors); Okechukwu Gabriel (Akwa United)


The African Nations Championship will kick off on the 13th of January 2018 in Morocco.


Nigeria will battle former Champions, Libya alongside Rwanda and Equatorial Guinea in Group D, starting with an opening game against Rwanda on the 15th of January 2018 in Tangier.
