Ahlan: Under My Watch, Nigerian Referees Would Be Counted Among Best In The World

Chairman of the Nigerian Referees Appointment Committee and Board Member of the Nigerian Football Federation, Alhaji Sharu Inuwa Rabiu Ahlan has vowed to take Nigerian Referees to a greater height.


The Kano State Football Association Chairman believes that in no distant time, the Nigerian Referees would be rated high and considered among the best in the World.


According to him, Nigerian referees are among the top notch in Africa and performance of the few in the CAF Club competitions recently said it all.


He also believes that the improvement recorded so far in the refereeing sector of the Nigerian Professional Football League is of great advantage to our referees globally.


He said FIFA and CAF are always interested in to statistics of every match officials and they ranked them according to their performances on the field of play.

"We can achieve our target by sending them to CAF and FIFA organized seminars so as to equip themselves with new innovations in the refereeing World."


It could be recalled that only a handful of incidences were recorded so far here and there in the current season.

If security can be guaranteed in our venues, the sky will only be the starting point.


"The security of our match officials during Match Days must be a top priority and we would not allow any form of harassment towards them," Ahlan added."
