Chairman of the Nigeria Referees Appointment Committee and Board of the country's Football Federation, Sharu Rabiu Inuwa Ahlan has heaped praises on the performance of match officials, selected week in week out to officiate in various matches.
The Chairman disclosed this while giving out a live interview with Aminci Radio 103.9, Kano.
He said that so far, the number of victories and draws recorded on the road compare to previous seasons is interesting.
According to the seasoned Football Administrator, teams are now feeling more confidence while playing away from home.
"This is what we want and it's a sign that in no distant time, our league would be counted among the best in the World.
"I believed, this can be counted as a huge success, don't forget, this happened within short time.
On the criteria used to choose the right officials for various match days;
Ahlan said that, "I told them during our meeting in Shagamu that this is not business as usual.
"There is not going to be any form of Godfatherism, only those who merit it will get the nod over his colleague.
"Selection is strictly based on the previous record and I called it, 'a survival of the fittest'.
He lashed out at those who always criticize the referees appointment committee of being corrupt.
He said that if club owners can allow referees to perform their assigned duties without any form of inducement, they wouldn't be any form of corruption allegations.
In recent weeks, four referees were suspended by the league's body for showing lack of professionalism while discharging their assigned duties.
